I am an Associate Professor of Business in the Accounting Division of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business and a faculty fellow at the Millstein Center at Columbia Law School. My research lies at the intersection of accounting, law, and economics. In my research, I examine the role of voluntary disclosure and verification in both regulated and unregulated markets, with a broad focus on capital, product and labor markets.
At Columbia Business School, I teach in various programs. First, I teach "Financial Statement Analysis and Valuation" in the MBA and Executive MBA programs. Second, I developed and taught the first accounting elective course dedicated to ESG in the MBA program. In this course, we discuss the role of information in markets and how it can empower agents to price externalities. We also critically dive into firms' actual environmental and social reporting. Finally, I co-developed and co-teach a PhD course titled "Methods for Empirical Accounting Research".
